There are many complexities to fully understanding the variances in the HL7 Laboratory transaction. LifePoint Informatics has developed the technology and has the project management experience to successfully get interfaces operational and supportable. The LifePoint HL7 Interfaces are flexible to accommodate the Health Level 7 (HL7) standard for transmission of data, as well as proprietary formats via customization. Healthcare organizations may contract with LifePoint to implement interfaces on a reasonable project fee basis. LifePoint professionally designs and builds the interfaces in consultation with your organization and the legacy system vendor.

"The purpose of the LOINC database is to facilitate the exchange and pooling of results, such as blood hemoglobin, serum potassium, or vital signs, for clinical care, outcomes management, and research. Currently, most laboratories and other diagnostic services use HL7 to send their results electronically from their reporting systems to their care systems. However, most laboratories and other diagnostic care services identify tests in these messages by means of their internal and idiosyncratic code values. Thus, the care system cannot fully "understand" and properly file the results they receive unless they either adopt the producer's laboratory codes (which is impossible if they receive results from multiple sources), or invest in the work to map each result producer's code system to their internal code system. LOINC codes are universal identifiers for laboratory and other clinical observations that solve this problem." Derived from http://www.regenstrief.org/loinc

LifePoint has expertise in building models and reporting systems to support the LOINC database. LifePoint can assist your laboratory in transforming your CPT/ Mnemonic based test catalog to be compliant with the LOINC database.

LifePoint brings expertise and design tools to create the 'look' and architecture of your Web portal. LifePoint will deliver a custom site determined by your health care organization's color scheme, logo, graphics, illustrations and design architecture. The appearance of the custom site will assist in portraying a high quality branded image in your marketplace.

There are many different methods that have been used to store information in health care. Whether it be Excel, Text Delimited, relational database or proprietary formats, LifePoint has developed the technology and has the project management experience to successfully get data converted into usable information. Healthcare organizations may contract with LifePoint to perform data conversions on a reasonable project fee basis. LifePoint professionally designs and builds the data conversions in consultation with your organization and the legacy system vendor.
